Chandeliers and Drapes at Longbourn Barn

Oakwood Events Blog Post

This summer we had another trip to the absolutely gorgeous Longbourn Barn in Warwickshire. This time we installed what we think is one of our prettiest setups yet for this incredible venue.

To light this large barn we used four of our 15-arm crystal chandeliers suspended from the barn's high beams (only three of the chandeliers are visible in the photo above, the other one was above my head when the photo was taken). Then we added long, white fabric drapes to each chandelier and out to the barn walls either side, lined along the bottom edge of the drapes with silk ruscus greenery.

At both ends of each drape we used our wireless LED uplighters for some more light lower down and to balance the light from the chandeliers above.

The chandeliers were all wired to a single dimmer so that they could all be dimmed simultaneously and the rechargeable uplighters were wirelessly controlled from our simple controller, in this case positioned next to the stage so that it could be operated by the band in the evening to change the colour and dim the uplighters as required.

As a finishing touch for the stage area we added a large white stage curtain as a backdrop behind the band, covering the barn's own black curtains to make the far end of the barn a bit lighter.
