We went to the lovely Bix Manor again recently, where the beams in the main barn are great for hanging a fairy light canopy above the tables and dance floor area. As with many barns the beams and walls are at uneven angles, which makes for some interesting challenges getting the fairy lights to hang just right!
On this occasion we installed a relaxed, centre-gathered canopy of lights running along the length of the barn in two large swags. They looked gorgeous in the day and super sparkly at night during the disco.

We love the Monks’ Barn – always a pleasure to work there!
Read MoreHere’s a photo of one of our recent fairy light canopies. This barn was enormous! The fairy lights were installed in a high density parallel canopy across the beams and then the beautiful pom poms, which were hand-made by the bride and groom, were added.
Stunning!

We recently installed this lovely canopy of over a hundred paper lanterns, pom poms and honeycomb balls in mixed pinks and ivory. Also in the disco side of the marquee were clusters of coloured and colour-changing paper lanterns to add a splash of colour in the evening.

This beautiful photo was taken at a recent wedding where we supplied the DJ along with synchronised, colour-changing uplighting, a mirror ball suspended from the wooden beam above the dance floor, and a set of moving heads sweeping patterns and colours around the room.

We combined a huge fairy light canopy in the main barn with gold uplighting and a pair of crystal chandeliers in the smaller barn. Whatever the weather, using all gold lighting gave the barn a fantastic warm glow. Magic!

Here are some photos of our festoon light canopy with gold uplighting at a wedding in the beautiful Monk’s Barn in Hurley.

The Great Barn is part of the Manor Farm estate and dates from around 1280. At almost 40m long, and with 12 pillars this barn is one of the largest we’ve worked at. A stunning space.

The Stables at Tewin Bury Farm is a gorgeous, intimate venue for smaller weddings. Lanterns and fairy lights took the cosy and intimate feel to a new level and complemented the bunting, lace sashes, tea cups and birdcages for this vintage barn wedding beautifully.
My Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen… a stunning marquee wedding where we provided lights, effects and disco.
Marquees are great for this kind of job because there’s flexibility to attach equipment to the ceiling and spread the effects.
The mirror balls and overhead installed lighting made the most of the effects, complementing the high spec disco set up which included wizard, moving heads and par cans.
Using a haze machine helps highlight the beams of light and creates a fantastic atmosphere.
Top quality sound, extension speakers and a DIY disco set up once the DJ went home made for a great party and a full dancefloor.
