Here are our top tips for what’s hot this year and how to use lighting to make the most of your style. Whether you’re a rustic, elegant or country bride colour, sparkle and texture are in so be bold and think big!

Wow! The barns at Caswell House are immaculately presented. We were recently asked to install a canopy of fairy lights over the larger of the barns. The layout of the beams presented a bit of a challenge, but we were delighted with the outcome:

Our crystal chandeliers looked amazing at the centre of a large double-gathered canopy of fairy lights in the Monks’ Refectory barn at Notley Abbey.

At Christmas, Great Fosters sometimes have lights and decorations installed in the Tithe Barn. When we visited last December, we augmented the decorations by adding fairy lights wrapped around the pillars plus LED uplighting around the edges of the room – in this case purple to match the colour scheme of the wedding.

Nether Winchendon House is tucked away in the Buckinghamshire countryside, and is a beautiful setting for a wedding. The Carriage Barn has two main beams, between which we installed this high density canopy of fairy lights.

The main barn at Lillibrooke Manor is a lovely space for a wedding reception. The barn is relatively long and thin, so when we were asked to install a fairy light canopy we recommended a design that’s gathered in the middle to create two gorgeous swags of lights that spread out as they sweep to the beams at the ends of the barn.

The result was breathtaking!

Another trip to the lovely Castle Barn at Wasing Park, this time to install a gathered fairy light canopy hanging from the beams and outdoor fairy lights on the railings around the patio area.

We’ve just installed this fairy light ceiling canopy in the Stable at Tewin Bury Farm for a gorgeous November wedding.

Hung between the high central beam and the two balconies, the lights really brightened up the room.

This is one of our very favourite fairy light ceiling installations!

We’ve discovered an amazing unexpected feature of our white chandeliers. They glow in ultraviolet light!

The fabric covered beams in the Orangery at Northbrook Park are relatively low, but we still managed to find a way to hang a large fairy light star canopy for this autumn wedding.

We installed a pair of our new white chandeliers at a barn wedding last weekend. We think they looked amazing suspended from the beams.

Cain Manor is a lovely venue with friendly staff and a real home-from-home feel. We visited again last weekend to wrap the pillars with warm white fairy lights in both the large barn-style ballroom and either side of the fireplace in the drawing room.

The Tithe Barn at Great Fosters looked gorgeous last Sunday. The flowers and cake were simple, elegant and utterly beautiful.

We added a touch of sparkle by winding the pillars with fairy lights and adding a triple swag of lights in between each pillar.

Another visit to the fabulous Castle Barn at Wasing Park, this time to install a star-shaped fairy light canopy with uplighting.

Even though this photo was taken during daylight hours it still looks great, but it really came to life in the evening. The fairy lights were dimmed slightly for a gorgeous, soft sparkle above the dance floor while the uplighters gave a warm pink glow to the room, matching the bride’s colour scheme.

We were back at Wasing Park again recently to install this large gathered fairy light canopy in the Castle Barn. It’s a great wedding venue and the lights really help to make it feel special.

Festoon lights are a great way to light outdoor areas at your wedding. They can be hung overhead or strung informally between trees and buildings for a fabulous, rustic effect. Festoons give a lovely warm light, and the multiple bulbs spread light evenly to eliminate shadows.

Another visit to the Great Barn at Manor Farm in Ruislip. We wound the pillars with fairy lights with a double swag of lights in between. This barn is big and beautiful, and always looks great with a little added sparkle!

We’re very excited to have added a set of large, 12 arm white / ivory chandeliers to our hire stock (we also have black but haven’t managed to take a photo yet!)

They’re absolutely gorgeous and would look amazing on their own or as the central feature of a fairy light or festoon canopy.

Here’s a quick shot of two of our beautiful crystal chandeliers installed in a marquee ceiling for a wedding a couple of weeks ago. They looked super sparkly and added a lovely warm glow to the marquee.
